Today I had a look at Georges PC and the problems he was having with it. Mum advised me incorrectly that he was running on Windows 98. Thank god when I arrived I found out that it was Windows XP Home.
I planned to have a quick look and see what I could do in a short space of time. In particular when I was doing it for free. IE6 would randomly freeze up all the time (The hourglass would just stick, which George referred to as a bottle). I did the following:
- I installed FireFox as an alternative browser
- I turned-off the three additional toolbars which were injected into Internet Explorer
- I disabled the third-party browser extensions
- I ran Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy
- I upgraded the browser from IE6 to IE7
I could have done a lot more, but I was short on time. Hopefully I have fixed his problems. We also sold my old bed to Nicks brother Ross for $NZ100.00. He came and picked it up in the afternoon.
Later that night, I rigged up an impromptu home theatre setup with a projector and a couple of speakers to watch the rugby tonight. The All Black beats the Wallabies 26 to 12. New Zealand won the Netball and the Basketball too this weekend.
We had fish and chips for dinner. Mum made some banana splits for desert.
Also, have a look at the cute picture of Carlos which is completely irrelevant to what I'm writing about here.
Useless Information: If we had the same mortality rate as in the 1900s, more than half the people in the world today would not be alive.
